The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board expects to keep up 2015’s steady pace of promotional activities in 2016 with an ambitious Action and Objectives Plan developed jointly with the private sector. Designating 2016 as the Year of Food & Wine Tourism and Golf sets the stage for various activities planned throughout the year. The year kicked off with a number of exciting developments, including the publication of the region’s tourism statistics, the Girona Pyrenees snow campaign, and participation in trade fairs and a number of promotional activities designed for consumer motivators, among others.
Catalonia received 17.4 million foreign tourists in 2015 and Girona attracted over 4.6 million.
