FITUR 2016

Ten Spanish tour operators interested in Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona cultural and wine and food products.

The Tourist Board was back at FITUR, an annual trade fair celebrated in Madrid from the 20th to the 24th of January, to organise an exclusive presentation for the heads of ten tour operators, including Hotelbeds, Logitravel,,, Viajes El Corte Inglés, B the Travel Brand, Carrefour Viajes, Pangea and Nautalia. Marta Felip and Jaume Dulsat, Tourist Board vice presidents, also participated in the event. The aim of the presentation was twofold, serving to showcase the destination’s tourist attractions as a whole, as well as give the Tourist Board representatives an opportunity to meet the executives responsible for scheduling and marketing tourism products and packages. The response from these business owners was positive, with participants underscoring the destination’s wide range of first-rate tourism products and expressing interest in creating cultural products, particularly related to Girona’s music festivals and world-renowned cuisine. Spanish tour operators also highlighted their interest in testing out nature-themed products for very specific customers.

The towns of Girona, Lloret de Mar, Roses and Puigcerdà were also featured in Catalonia’s promotional space at FITUR, where the Tourist Board unveiled developments in the province’s tourism products and services for the 2016 season.
