In November, the 2017-2018 snow season got off to a good start for the ski resorts in the Girona Pyrenees, while, at the same time, the best season for tourist cruise ships in the history of the Costa Brava and the second edition of Som Cultura (“We are Culture”) ended on a positive note, with the latter doubling participant numbers this year. The Tourist Board focussed its promotional activity on using trade fairs, workshops and presentations to make the destinations and products of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees known to the British, French, US, Scandinavian and the Eastern European markets. As regards internal policy, the organization started its ninth professional training course, organized two sectoral benchmark events and was involved in various projects throughout the province. Furthermore, coinciding with the end of the Year of Sustainability in the province of Girona, the innovative Healthy Forests and Therapeutic Itineraries project was launched, with the new ecotourism product of ‘woodland immersions’, in seven of Girona’s forests.
