The Patronat de Turisme has held the G!2010 Tourism Awards ceremony, a great night of celebration for the tourism sector, and expects a good hotel occupancy rate in the Pirineu de Girona for the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Girona's restaurants have amassed 20 Michelin stars between them, while the destination's social media have grown in terms of the number of followers and user contributions. Furthermore, the 2011-2015 Strategic Tourism Plan of the counties of Girona, the 2011 Action Plan and the 2011 budget have all been approved.

This year's award winners were the businessman Josep Antoni Cuadrat, the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa, the magazine Australian Gourmet Traveller, the German television channel Deutsche Welle TV and the researcher Marc Grijalvo.
