Tourism trade fairs

Growing presence of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees brands at six national and international tourism trade fairs.

On 6 and 7 May the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board’s Sports Tourism Marketing Club, together with the towns of Blanes, Castell-Platja d’Aro and Lloret de Mar, took part in Expo Sports in Barcelona, Spain’s most important sports trade fair, promoting the destination’s sports tourism services and facilities.

From 6 to 8 May, the Board, together with a dozen towns, associations and various campsite companies, attended Expovacaciones in Bilbao. There they publicised the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees’ range of tourist options among the Basque audience, an important market for the destination.

Later, on 19 and 20 May, the Board took part in Expo+Accesible, the first Ibero-American virtual fair for inclusion, innovation and tourism. During the event, involving more than 1,200 participants, 110 speakers and 86 exhibitors, the Board gave a presentation entitled ‘Accessible tourist destinations’, detailing the province of Girona’s inclusive tourist services and facilities.

Also, from 23 to 25, at the Emotions show in Seville the Board’s Premium Marketing Club held fifty meetings with travel agents from around the world specialising in luxury tourism.

Later, from 27 to 29 May, the province’s range of tourist options was promoted at the Mercat d’Escapades in Barcelona. At the same time, visitors to the fair could also enjoy Vívid Insòlit, an interactive and immersive mapping experience about the world of wine and wine tourism on the Costa Brava.

And, finally, from 31 May to 2 June, the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau was present at the IMEX trade show in Frankfurt, during which they met with thirty business sector agencies from around the world.
