The Board participated in four specific international fairs.
At the beginning of March, the DO Empordà Wine Route Club participated for the first time in the FINE Valladolid trade fair, held in Valladolid. This event seeks to increase the volume of wine-tourism business by fostering interaction between national and international buyers and the sector’s main opinion leaders. The event included a B2B workshop and 32 meetings were held with travel agencies and event planning companies attending the fair.
From 11 to 14 March, the Tourist Board and the Costa Brava Sub Diving Centres Association were in Paris for the Salon de Plongeé, Europe’s leading diving fair, to publicise the region’s water-sports activities in the French market. In parallel, on 12 and 13 March the Sports Tourism Club took part in the Copenhagen Bike Show in Denmark on the Catalonia stand to promote the province’s cycling resources in the Nordic market. During the event, the club presented the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees’ calendar of sporting competitions and its facilities and services for cyclists to Danish media, tour operators, travel agents and cycling clubs.
Finally, at the end of March, the Golf Marketing Club and five companies associated with the club —Hotel Peralada Wine Spa & Golf, Empordà Golf, Golf de Pals and La Costa Beach & Golf Resort, Torremirona Relais Hotel Golf & Spa and Golf d'Aro-Mas Nou— took part in the National Golf Week fair in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, promoting the region’s golf facilities among the French public.
