Reprinting of the Costa Brava Menu

A total of 83 Costa Brava brand restaurants join the Centenary Menu gastronomic promotion campaign.

MARCH 2014

The Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona is promoting the gastronomy of the Costa Brava through the Costa Brava Menu. The Costa Brava Menu gastronomic guide is being reprinted as a result of the successful gastronomic campaign carried out in April and due to the interest shown by several restaurants in offering dishes from the Centenary menu. The Centenary Menu, together with the production of Centenary wines, enables restaurants to showcase the gastronomic wealth and quality of the destination.

The Costa Brava Menu is a selection of the most established and outstanding local dishes. The 83 participating restaurants have been offering a selection of dishes from this menu with their own twist since April 2009 and the initiative is set to run until the end of 2010.

Each restaurant offers a unique menu adapted to the chef’s personal style. The same dish may be presented in a traditional manner or with a more elaborate and up-to-date twist. The length of the Centenary Menu varies according to each restaurant; some offer two or three dishes while others offer a tasting menu that includes a larger number of dishes.

Wine is another element that defines the gastronomic wealth of the Costa Brava. That is why a team of local sommeliers has selected some of the region's best wines to accompany the dishes on the Centenary Menu. These wine varieties include vintage reds, young whites and dessert wines, all with the DO Empordà denomination of origin label.

The Costa Brava Menu gastronomic guide is distributed in tourism offices and restaurants. It is published in six languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German and Italian). It has a print run of 30,000 copies.
