Promotion in Eastern Europe

The Costa Brava promotes itself in Poland, currently Eastern Europe’s leading tourist source market for Mediterranean destinations.

From 16 to 19 May, Girona Provincial Council’s Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, together with the Catalan Tourist Board and Lloret Turisme, took part in the Hiszpania on the Road promotional event taking place in four Polish cities (Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań and Warsaw). The aim was to promote the Costa Brava’s range of tourism options among eighty Polish travel agents.

Among the many meetings held with Polish travel agents specialising in holidays and business trips, we would highlight those involving representatives from wholesale travel agencies such as Itaka, Nekera, Logos Tour, Carter, Atur, Best Reisen and Eccotravel who were interested in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destination, and with media such as The Travel Compass and Viva!.

Despite the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part in this action to continue its cautious and sporadic promotion in Eastern European markets, which are important for the Costa Brava destination, and as Girona-Costa Brava Airport is increasing the number of regular flights between Catalonia and the Polish cities of Kraków, Wrocław and Poznań.

The forecast for this summer indicates that Polish tourists will be booking holidays in European destinations such as Turkey, Greece, Spain and Italy.
