Joan Roca presents the Costa Brava in Milan as part of the food sector’s Expo Milano 2015

IMG_8019 “Joan Roca’s Costa Brava”, a conference held as part of the Expo Milano’s Expo in Città series of events, was presented on Tuesday, 9 June, at the Alessi Room at Milan’s City Hall. Touching on the expo’s main theme of food, Joan Roca’s conference focused on the Costa Brava and how El Celler de Can Roca understands and prepares its dishes using its surroundings. The Girona-born chef discussed the ideology, the points of departure and concepts that explain his cuisine: landscape, memory, academics, tradition, colours, product, wine, tradition, sweets, innovation, poetry, perfume, courage, sense of humour and magic. Over a hundred people, including journalists, travel agents, chefs, producers and Italian culinary schools, attend the lecture by El Celler de Can Roca’s Joan Roca, entitled “Joan Roca’s Costa Brava”, a presentation organised by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board in collaboration with the Catalan Tourism Board and Barcelona City Council. The lecture joins a long list of events to promote and share Girona cuisine and its close ties to the Costa Brava region that Joan Roca has given in his role as ambassador of Girona.
