Successful participation in the 60th MedCruise-Costa Brava General Assembly — top event on the Mediterranean cruise industry calendar.

From 24 to 27 May the Costa Brava became the epicentre of the Mediterranean cruise industry, as 180 members of the MedCruise association met for the 60th edition of its General Assembly. Participating in the event were MedCruise’s associate members, cruise lines and specialised media from nine European countries and the USA.

During the four-day event MedCruise members meeting at the assembly attended talks and panel discussions, and were invited to take part in different activities around the region (nine fam trips and three venues for networking) designed to showcase the destination’s tourist attractions and products, as well as strengthening the Costa Brava Cruise Ports brand.

Hosting this event was the result of several years of hard work by Costa Brava Cruise Ports, an association of public bodies made up of Ports de Catalunya, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, the chambers of commerce, industry and shipping of Girona and Palamós, the town councils of Roses and Palamós, which, together with the Costa Brava destination, promote and market the ports of Palamós and Roses internationally among cruise companies, particularly medium capacity and luxury lines.

The excellent results achieved in recent years have firmly established cruise activity in the ports of Palamós and Roses, which have built loyalty among companies and clients, reinforced the role of the Costa Brava destination, helped to boost and de-seasonalise tourism in the province of Girona and benefitted the region’s economy.
