Meetings between MICE sector professionals and generalist international tourist operators have been stepped up at various events.
On 2 June the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau took part in Wyred Meets: Spain & Portugal, an online event organised by M&I. During the day eleven meetings were scheduled with different specialised European agencies and five business proposals were generated. Furthermore, on 15 and 16 June the Iberian MICE Forums (IMF) were held in Sitges, during the course of which the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau together with associated members of the club (Evenia Hotels, Girona Conference Centre and Girona City CB, Hotel Empordà Golf, Hotel Camiral at PGA Catalunya and Peralada Resort) had meetings with 25 national event planners.
On 8 June the online City Fair workshop organised by ETOA took place with the participation of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board to promote the destination’s range of tourist products and services. In this edition, twenty-four interviews were held with tourist operators, travel agencies and companies from the European and international sector interested in creating new products from 2022 that are more personalised and focused on rural areas, the Pyrenees and smaller accommodation options.
