More professional visits to the destination from travel and tourism opinion leaders and journalists.
In February, the Tourist Board organised and coordinated a blog trip, four press trips and two fam trips with the aim of continuing to promote and publicise the region’s tourist services and facilities among national and international opinion leaders.
The destination hosted a visit from content creator Chus Tomé, who enjoyed snow activities in the Girona Pyrenees as research for creating digital content for the magazine Vanitatis, the website Tusdestinos.net and the programme Viatja bé on RAC1.
In the press trips, journalist and contributor to Guía Repsol and Hola Viajes magazine, Elena Ortega, visited the destination to learn about its cultural and wellness tourist services and facilities and active tourism in nature. Cynthia Martín, journalist for the design and contemporary art magazine AD, made specific visits to discover modern architecture cultural attractions to prepare a report entitled ‘24 hours of contemporary art on the Costa Brava’. Finally, a journalist from the Swiss publication Neue Zürcher Zeitung visited the destination to learn about the wine and gastronomy of Alt and Baix Empordà counties and the project by publisher Anaya, 101 surprising places in Catalonia, was completed with a professional visit to the Girona Pyrenees from a photojournalist.
The destination also received representatives from the US agency Magnolia Vacations, who visited the Dalí Museum, the city of Girona and several wineries in the area, as well as hosting a prospection by twenty or so national representatives from American Express specialised in event planning who visited the Costa Brava and Girona.
