In September, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board presented the visitor and tourist occupation figures for this year’s high season in Girona’s destinations, rating it as ‘satisfactory’; however, work continues to extend the season into the months of September and October.
On an international level, the Board organised specific promotional actions at specialised trade fairs, Premium and Mice sector presentations and workshops for international agents, and continued to arrange press and blog trips to the region. Closer to home, it resumed its professional training programme ‘Turisme 360º’, and provided support for events and actions organised by Girona’s tourism sector, which together help to promote the destination.
The province of Girona received 3.6 million tourists, who generated 15 million overnight stays during the months of June, July and August.
