The Costa Brava’s peak tourist season comes to a close this year with a positive balance sheet that reflects record tourist occupation. In late summer the Tourist Board rekindled its participation in international tourism trade fairs, organising promotional activities in European markets and continuing to focus on consumer motivators capable of building the destination’s brand and sharing its tourism-related products with the world. Internally, the organisation held meetings with the members of different product marketing clubs in order to assess the promotional activities and events held over the course of the year and to start planning next year’s calendar. With the onset of autumn the Tourist Board also kicked off a number of events to promote the Girona Pyrenees’s tourist attractions and services for 2015-2016.
Tourism in Girona grew roughly 3% to 8% over the summer season.
