Vívid Wine Festival

Attendance doubles at the second edition of the Vívid Wine Festival

MAY 2015

Arrels del Vi BCN The Vívid Wine Festival, held throughout the month of April on the Costa Brava, recorded 5,748 participants, up 89% from the first edition despite inclement weather over two festival weekends. The activities that were most popular among the visitors ―the majority from the regions of Girona and Barcelona, although participants also included visitors from across Europe― were the Arrels del Vi wine estate fair in Barcelona and the Jornada Vins Dolços (Sweet Wine Day) in Figueres, which registered a thousand participants each. Other activities that were well-received included the tours and open days at wineries like Martí Faixó and the Wine Family Museum Coll de Roses; family activities, such as the “Play among vineyards and olive trees” event at the La Vinyeta winery; concerts paired with wine, cheese and prawns from Llançà; Espolla’s “Your City” Instagram contest and the joint art exhibition at Cellers d’en Guilla. This year’s Vívid Wine Festival was rated as extremely positive across the board, from visitors to the companies and organisations who offered the activities, as well as by members of the DO Empordà Wine Route Club.
