Participation in five industry-specific tourism trade fairs and two exhibitions to reactivate the Board’s promotional activities in both the domestic and international market after the summer
The Tourist Board kicked off the post-summer promotional activities at industry-specific tourism trade fairs to promote region’s active tourism, golf, cycling, cruises and food and wine across Catalonia and Spain as well as in several European cities. The Tourist Board attended the TourNatur fair in Düsseldorf to promote its Pirineus de Catalunya brand, followed by the KLM Dutch Open golf event and 50 Plus Beurs trade fair in the Dutch city of Utrecht to promote the region as a destination for seniors and families. Mid-month found the Board promoting Girona’s Vies Verdes (greenways) at the Unibike trade fair in as well as its Costa Brava Cruise Ports brand at the Seatrade Med Cruise fair celebrated in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Board also took advantage of this Canary Island event to present its “Boutique Ports” project and its new attractions for cruise tourists. Girona’s outstanding food and wine was also promoted at the 32nd Wine Show in Figueres and the Catalan Wine and Cava Show in Barcelona.
