Attendance at the WTM and IBTM fairs and projection of the Vívid Insòlit.
The World Travel Market, the world’s leading professional tourism fair, was held in London from 7 to 9 November. The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board was present at this fair on the Catalonia stand, sharing space with the resort town of Lloret de Mar. During the fair, the opportunity was taken to promote the destination’s tourism products and gather information about trends in the British market for the 2023 season. Great Britain is currently the fourth largest international market for the Costa Brava destination. Meetings were also held during the WTM with 25 professionals working in the tour operator sector (Jet2holidays and TUI Group), travel agencies and portals (HolidayPirates, Avoris, Travelzoo), and communication media, among others.
Following that, on 11 and 12 November, coinciding with the 11th Most, the International Wine Cinema Festival, the DO Empordà Wine Route’s Marketing Club projected Vívid Insòlit, an immersive and interactive mapping experience lasting 20 minutes that immerses viewers in the Empordà region’s wine tourism. In total, it received about ninety visitors.
And lastly, Barcelona provided the venue at the end of November for one of the top business tourism fairs, the IBTM World. The Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau attended this event on the Catalan Tourist Board’s stand and held about 50 encounters with agencies specialising in business tourism.
