Thirteen Michelin-starred restaurants

Thirteen restaurants in the Girona area are awarded a total of seventeen Michelin stars.

On 24th November the prestigious Michelin Guide presented in Barcelona the 2012 edition of its red restaurant guide for Spain and Portugal, in which thirteen restaurants in the Girona area received a total of seventeen stars. Gastronomic excellence can be found across the eight counties of Girona, an area with more than 2,500 eating establishments, of which thirteen have retained or have been awarded the prestigious Michelin stars this year. Following the closure of Ferran Adrià's El Bulli restaurant, the Celler de Can Roca has become the only restaurant in the Girona area to feature in Michelin's red guide with the top honour of three stars.
