The première of the film Tasting menu, was held on 11th June at the Comedia cinema in Barcelona, attended by 600 people, including dignitaries, actors, personalities from the world of culture, sponsors and members of the TR3SC club.
Several of the film’s actors were present, including Jan Cornet, Clàudia Bassols, Andrew Tarbet, Marta Torné and Vicenta N’Dongo, along with the director, Roger Gual, and representatives of the production company, Zentropa. The event was also attended by the President of Girona Provincial Council and of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, Joan Giraut; the Mayor of L’Escala, Estanis Puig, and other personalities from the art, culture and tourism sectors. Prior to the screening of the film, the promotional video of the Costa Brava was shown.
The Tourist Board provided support for the production, which was filmed in the spring of 2012 on the Costa Brava, at Portitxol beach in L’Escala, and in the cities of Dublin and Barcelona. Joan and Josep Roca of El Celler de Can Roca appear in the film itself and provided technical assistance on gastronomic matters, since the dishes served in the film were prepared according to their guidelines in order to showcase the high quality of Catalan cuisine.
Tasting menu is being released in over 30 countries all over the world, including the Russian Federation, the USA, and countries in Central America, Asia and the Pacific. It was released in cinemas across Spain on 14th June.
Tasting menu has been screened out of competition at the Moscow International Film Festival on 27th June and will also be given an open-air screening on 22nd July at Portitxol beach, during the Portalblau music festival in L’Escala, preceded on both occasions by a showing of the Costa Brava promotional video.
