Promotional events for the Spanish market

Intense promotion of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees among Madrid travel agents, influencers and the media

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board kicked off the start of the tourism high season with a series of five presentations and two workshops in Madrid from 7 to 9 June. These Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees sessions were attended by 140 travel agents and influencers and 80 journalists from across the metropolitan area of Madrid.

Twenty Girona tourism organisations and employers participated in workshops celebrated at the Pangea travel agency. Three presentations about the DO Empordà Wine Route, the region’s health and wellness opportunities, and the Costa Brava Girona Festivals brand, including the presentation of the 30th Castell de Peralada Festival programme, were also held at the same venue for journalists, media outlets, bloggers and influencers.

At the same time, a presentation of the “Girona Excel·lent” exclusive quality label was celebrated at the Platea venue for 20 food and wine journalists as part of a lunch prepared by chef duo Enrique Díaz and Pep Nogué. Finally, the “Dalí, Breaking News” exhibition, promoted by the Provincial Council of Girona, the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board and the EFE news agency, was opened at the Casa de las Noticias (House of News) at the EFE Museum.

With more than 800,000 visitors in 2015, visitors from the Autonomous Community of Madrid represent the second source market for tourism in Catalonia.
