Many well-known figures from politics, culture, fashion and motor sport celebrate the Centenary of the Costa Brava with the Centenary Menu in a festive event held in Castell-Platja d’Aro.

MARCH 2014

More than 400 people attended the evening reception offered by the Patronat de Turisme in the emblematic and historic Hostal de la Gavina in S’Agaró on 18th August, coinciding with the celebration of the first anniversary of the luxury magazine GPMQ in Platja d’Aro.

GPMQ celebrated its first anniversary in Platja d’Aro on 18th August. With the support of Platja d'Aro Town Council and its many sponsors it organised the parade of an Arrows A20 Formula 1 racing car around the town’s streets and the installation of a simulator available to those wishing to go for a spin. The parade lasted for about 40 minutes along a route that included Avinguda París, Carrer Roma and Carrer Josep Maria Vilà in Platja d'Aro.

The Patronat de Turisme contributed to the day’s festivities with an evening reception at the Hostal de la Gavina, attended by the President of the Patronat, organised in order to present the Centenary and promote the gastronomy of the Costa Brava through the Centenary Menu. The restaurants Maràngels, in Sant Gregori, and Hostal de la Gavina, in S’Agaró, both associated with the Centenary Menu, prepared a meal based on the selection of eight dishes chosen from those listed on the Costa Brava Menu.
