Promotion in the United Kingdom

The main tour operators and communications media specialising in the cycling sector consider the Costa Brava and Girona to be Europe’s fashionable cycling destination.

On the occasion of the London Bike Show, the sector’s specialist event, held in the UK capital from February 23rd to 25th, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board organised a cycle of promotional and commercial initiatives to publicise the range of cycling and bike touring options on offer in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees —including the second edition of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Festival and the fifth edition of the Girona Cycling Festival— among some fifteen tour operators and a dozen specialised reporters. On 22nd February, a press conference was held for specialised media, including journalists from National Geographic Traveller, The Sun, Rouleur, Global Cycling Network, Sportive.com and Total Women’s Cycling. After the presentation, a commercial agenda was developed for visits to the offices of the main tour operators running commercial bike tours (Rapha Travel, La Fuga, Much Better Adventures, Love Cycling, Hot Chillee, Jet2, Bikecation and Bicissimo). Finally, we attended the London Bike Show to promote the destination’s specific range of cycling options among the different cycling clubs present and at the same time publicise the sports tourism options available in the province.
