Promoting business tourism

The province’s business tourism, events and congress offering was promoted in France, Madrid and Finland.

From 3 to 5 June, the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau organised a sales mission in the French city of Lyon. In total, nine visits were made to event planning agencies and professionals, who showed strong interest in the province of Girona’s business tourism possibilities. At the same time, from a stand as guest destination at an event organised by the agency Oh! My Com, it hosted a gastronomic workshop and held a draw in which ten train tickets for an incentive trip to the Costa Brava were shared among the agency’s top 200 corporate client accounts. From 11 to 13 June, a sales mission was organised in Madrid, with about a dozen interviews with the capital’s leading event, congress and meeting managing agencies. And lastly, from 13 to 15 June, the Tourist Board attended a workshop in Helsinki (Finland), together with members of the Girona Costa Brava Lloret Convention Bureau – Hotel  Camiral, Evenia Olympic Palace and Lloret Convention Bureau –, with participation by several event planning agencies from the United Kingdom, Benelux and France. During the three days of the event, more than 30 meetings were held with industry professionals, who were given information about the province of Girona’s business tourism offering.
