Press coverage

Articles and features have appeared in the international media on destinations in the Girona area as a result of press trips

MARCH 2014

During the summer period, several press and familiarisation trips have taken place with the support of the Patronat de Turisme. The TV channel France 2 produced a feature on the town of Cadaqués in the 1960s. Meanwhile, following its location scouting trip to the south of the Costa Brava for the making of an American film entitled What about love, the producer Gondola Films filmed several scenes and exterior locations. The film, which will star Sharon Stone, Andy Garcia and José Coronado, will be shot between 20th September and 5th October in Tossa de Mar and other places on the Costa Brava.

Furthermore, the Patronat has also provided expert advice and guidance to journalists who have visited the area during the summer period.

Some of the articles and features produced as a result of the press trips aimed at the destination's priority outbound tourism markets have appeared in the spring and summer of 2012 in media outlets such as in the German magazine Das Magazin, entitled Wandern entlang der Steilküste der Costa Brava (Walking along the clifftops of the Costa Brava), the English newspaper London Evening Standard (A Quieter Costa), the Italian newspaper Il Giornale (Empordà, nella terra di Salvador Dalí alla scoperta del genio surrealista), the Irish Times Magazine (Gorgeous Girona) and Irish Independent (Costa Calmer), the Russian magazine TeleShow (Bravo Costa Brava and Girona: feel the spirit of Catalunya), the TV channel France 2 (with a feature on Cadaqués within the Télématin programme), among others.

The readers and audience of the media outlets that publish and broadcast articles and features on the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destinations can obtain first-hand information and recommendations on the places, services and activities discovered by the journalists during their visit to the area.
