Press and familiarisation trips
Twelve press trips and six familiarisation trips bring 106 industry professionals to the province

Some fifty journalists from Madrid, France, Germany, Holland, Russia, Denmark, the United Kingdom and Canada took part in 12 press trips. Three of the trips focused on golf, based around the Spanish Open being held at the PGA Catalunya Resort. Two further trips, organised for German and Dutch journalists, centred on the Girona Flower Festival. The Nature and Active Tourism Club organised two press trips for Canadian and French journalists to discover the Pirinexus and Vies Verdes cycle routes. Finally, three general press trips were organised for Russian, British and French journalists. Six familiarization trips for 56 travel agents and tour operators from Germany, France, Australia and Brazil were also organised to introduce them to the destination and enable them to meet companies operating in various sectors and activities. Many of Girona’s tourism organisations and companies played an active part in the organisation of the press and familiarisation trips.
