Participation at congresses and conferences

Participation at three professional forums that specialise in the sustainable management of destinations, in travel blogs and in promoting sports tourism destinations.

On 19 and 20 September, representatives of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part at the “Smart Tourism Destinations and Cities” Seminar in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, where they gave the talk entitled “Smart communication: innovating to genuinely reach our target public”. During the event, different meetings were also held with tourism authorities and businesspeople from Belo Horizonte and from the state of Minas Gerais, in order to discuss aspects associated with sustainable development. On 24 and 25 September, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board also attended The Social Travel Summit travel blogger’s congress in the Italian city of Ravenna, with a view to establishing contact with the main European content creators and with other tourist destinations. During the event it chaired the Think Tank session “How to measure the success of campaigns”, and presented the report resulting from the Social Travel Forum, which took place in May in the Austrian city of Graz. Meetings were also held with different content creators in order to plan future collaboration and to evaluate new projects. Lastly, on the 24 and 25 September, experts from the Sports Tourism Club of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board attended the World Football Summit, held in Madrid, and took part at the event’s networking session in order to raise awareness among sector professionals about the training camps offered by Girona province.
