New tourist office in Girona Costa Brava Airport

The new tourist office in Girona Costa Brava Airport expands its customer care area and installs two interactive information points that operate 24 hours a day all year round.

MARCH 2014

The Girona Costa Brava Airport Tourism Office, jointly run by the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona and the Catalan Government, has been operating since December from a prominent and permanent new location in the arrivals terminal.

The new office has doubled its previous operating space from 12 m2 to 24 m2 and provides users with assistance both from the “ground side” (terminal side) and the “air side” (flight arrivals side), while the expanded help desk constitutes the main improvement of the facility. The opening hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Two interactive information points on the counties of Girona are being installed in the terminal, aimed at offering users more and improved features. The interactive information points will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The office gathers data on the queries made by users, thus enabling visitors’ profiles to be studied. The gathered data includes the origin and destination of visitors, along with information queries regarding transport, accommodation and activities, etc. The tourist office staff members provide users with information and advice.

Trend regarding the number of people assisted at the Office

The Airport Tourist Office has assisted 242,364 visitors in 2009, representing an increase of 6.5% in respect of 2008.

In terms of nationalities, the greatest number of enquiries have come from visitors from Italy, the UK and Spain. These enquiries are related to transport, accommodation, timetables, prices, visits, sports events, music festivals and fairs, etc.
