New publications

As this is the Year of Cultural Tourism, we have published material describing scientific and literary routes, in addition to a booklet of health and wellness experiences.

The scientific routes in the counties of  Girona combine tourism and science in eight different itineraries, one per county, created by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation with the support of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and the collaboration of Girona’s eight county councils. The eight scientific routes available are: the Transformation Route (Ripollès), the Great Route of Pla de l'Estany, the Margalef Route (Selva), the Submerged Route (Gironès), the Sustainable Route (Garrotxa), the Cork Route (Baix Empordà), the Door to Innovation Route (Alt Empordà) and the Stone Route (Cerdanya). The publication A Literary Trip through the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees presents eighteen literary routes along the Costa Brava and seven through the Girona Pyrenees, together with an activity which is relevant to the entire province and takes the form of a literary aperitif dedicated to the writer Josep Pla. These itineraries add to the destination’s value and accentuate Girona’s cultural heritage, making it obvious why the province of Girona has always been, and still is, a source of inspiration for numerous writers and poets that have projected their vision of the destination’s culture, region and landscape in their works of literature. Lastly, the Tourist Board has published the first booklet of health and wellness experiencies in the province of Girona, with fourteen activities and packages aimed at visitors seeking experiences to get away from it all, unwind and get back into shape through a wellness activity or short break.
