With three new stars, the Michelin constellation in the province of Girona is growing, with a total of 21 stars in 16 restaurants.
The Michelin Guide has released the list of restaurants with Michelin stars for Spain and Portugal 2021 and the list of restaurants that have received the Bib Gourmand 2021 and the new green Michelin star, a distinction that recognises and positively positions restaurants and chefs that are particularly committed to protecting the environment and to sustainable practices in the sector.
Three stars have been added to the province’s Michelin inventory, with a second star for the Bo.TiC restaurant in Corçà, with chef Albert Sastregener, and a first star for the Atempo in Sant Julià de Ramis, with chef Jordi Cruz, and L’Aliança in Anglès, run by the Feliu family.
2021 will kick start with 21 Michelin stars awarded to 16 restaurants along the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees: El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, with three stars, with two stars Miramar in Llançà, Les Cols in Olot and Bo.TiC in Corçà and, with one star, Les Magnòlies in Arbúcies, Ca l'Arpa in Banyoles, Ca l'Enric in La Vall de Bianya, Casamar in Llafranc, Els Tinars in Santa Cristina d’Aro, La Cuina de Can Simon in Tossa de Mar, Fonda Xesc in Gombrèn, Massana in Girona, Empòrium in Castelló d'Empúries, Castell Peralada in Peralada, Atempo in Sant Julià de Ramis and L’Aliança in Anglès.
It should also be noted that a total of ten Girona restaurants have been awarded the Bib Gourmand label, which recognises establishments that stand out for offering good quality food at reasonable prices.
Finally, the Michelin Guide Spain & Portugal has created a new distinction, the Michelin green star, awarded to 21 restaurants including Les Cols in Olot, with chef Fina Puigdevall.
Currently, the Girona province comes in third in Spain in terms of the number of Michelin stars, right after the province of Barcelona and the Community of Madrid.
