Initiatives for opinion leaders

24 press and fam trips to the destination were arranged for 26 journalists, 92 travel agents and 13 digital content creators.

In October, the Tourist Board’s promotional activity focussed on programming and organising events in the destination for opinion leaders as a follow-up to initial contacts previously made within the framework of such events as TastEmotion, press presentations, workshops in central European countries and initiatives of our own like the ImPress Cultura press trip or the Influencers Golf blog trip. Twenty-six writers and journalists from international communications media, including the Financial Times, Actu Toulouse - Côté Toulouse, Ukraine’s channel 5 TV and publications like Travel News or Reiskrant visited the province of Girona with an interest in exploring the region’s cultural, gastronomic and tourist options. In addition, 92 professionals from travel agencies and event planner companies took part in 14 themed fam trips. Themes included culture, golf, gourmet food and wine, MICE, premium, sport and cruise ships and enabled the professionals to discover the specific products available in Girona’s destinations and to contact local tourist professionals in their own establishments. Lastly, we also organised four blog trips with content creators from communities and platforms like Traveldudes and Kamaleon.
