Fairs in outbound tourist markets

The Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona are promoted in eight international tourism fairs.

The Patronat de Turisme began the year by attending Madrid’s Fitur fair in January, while in February it took part in eight tourism fairs, mostly international, where it promoted the destination and products including gastronomy, golf, culture, active tourism and nature, targeting both professionals and end customers.

From 2nd to 6th February 2012 – Salon des Vacances, in Brussels (Belgium)
The Patronat de Turisme took part together with the towns of Castell-Platja d’Aro, Roses and the Campsite and Holiday Resort Association of the counties of Girona in Belgium’s most important tourism fair.

From 2nd to 5th February 2012 – Salon Mahana, in Toulouse (France)
The tourism products and services of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands were promoted from the Catalonia stand. The tourism towns of Roses, Castell-Platja d’Aro, Lloret de Mar, Blanes and L’Escala were promoted in the Costa Brava space, while the towns of Puigcerdà and La Vall d’en Bas were included in the Catalan Pyrenees space. Several organisations and companies from the Girona area were also present at the fair, including the Rural Tourism Association of Girona, the Mas de Torrent Group, La Siesta Campsite, Sant Pol Campsite, Neus Campsite, Empordà Golf Resort and Cerdanya Resort.

From 9th to 12th February 2012 – Holiday World, in Prague (Czech Republic)
The Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona took part in the fair as part of the Catalonia stand, presenting and promoting the tourism products and services of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands.

From 11th to 12th February 2012 – Fiets en Wandelbeurs Fair, in Amsterdam (Holland)
The Patronat de Turisme participated as part of the Catalan Pyrenees stand, where it promoted tourism products and services, in particular those related to nature activities: hiking, cycle touring, etc.

From 14th to 15th February 2012 – International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), in Tel Aviv (Israel)
The Patronat de Turisme participated for the first time in the IMTM, as part of the Catalan Pyrenees stand, promoting the tourism products and services of the Pirineu de Girona in particular, along with the tourism offer of the Costa Brava.

From 16th to 19th February 2012 – Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT) in Milan (Italy)
The Patronat de Turisme presented and promoted the tourism products and services of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands from the Turespaña stand.

From 23rd to 26th February 2012 – International Fair Tourism (IFT), in Belgrade (Serbia)
The Patronat de Turisme participated for the first time in the IFT as part of the Turespaña stand. The Patronat participated in this tourism fair for professionals and end customers to present the overall tourism offer of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona.

From 25th to 28th February – Gastronomic Forum Santiago (Spain)
The Patronat de Turisme participated for the third time in the Gastronomic Forum Santiago to promote the tourism products and services of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destinations, with special emphasis on Girona’s cuisine and food products. The Patronat participated in the fair together with Girona City Council and the Catalan Tourism Agency.
