The Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona Facebook profile has surpassed 20,000 likes.
The Patronat currently has a presence and profile in the following social media: Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. It also has an official blog. Moreover, its portal now incorporates three booking engines (for hotels, tourist apartments and restaurants).
The Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona Facebook profile has surpassed 20,000 likes, while the Twitter @costabrava_ profile now has 1,200 followers and more than 3,000 tweets. As for photographs, the Flickr social network currently contains more than 3,800 high quality photographs shared by members of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona community. The official blog, bitts.costabrava.org, has a team of collaborators specialised in tourism, marketing, communication, journalism, public relations, territorial planning, social communication and networks, music and performing arts, oenology and golf. They have published 40 posts to date.
These figures bear comparison with other tourism destinations that use social media to communicate with their visitors and potential tourists: in terms of Catalonia, Catalunya Experience (the Catalonia Facebook page) boasts 16,000 likes; within the rest of Spain, the Community of Valencia profile has 17,800 likes; and on a European level, the Côte d'Azur Tourisme Facebook profile has 6,554 likes.
