Cycle touring promotion

Sea Otter and the Girona Cycling Festival give the province of Girona projection as an international cycle touring destination.

In June, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board presented the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees as a cycle touring and road cycling destination on a worldwide scale and participated in promoting the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show and the Girona Cycling Festival. From 8^th to 10^th June, the organisation was actively involved in organising the second edition of the Sea Otter Europe Costa Brava-Girona Bike Show and Girocamping 2018, and in showcasing the destination at these two events. It also carried out a study of Sea Otter’s economic impact on the province of Girona. In addition, the Tourist Board supported the Girona Cycling Festival, organised by the agency Bike Breaks Girona Cycle Centre, which took place in Girona from 11^th to 17^th June. This is more of an amateurs’ event, aimed at offering bike lovers a whole array of activities and competitions so as to enjoy cycling in such a great cycle touring area as the province of Girona. Highlights of the Girona Cycling Festival’s programme included the Girona Gran Fondo race, a 125-kilometre circular route, and Els Àngels mountain time trial.
