Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board

The Tourist Board reorganises its governing bodies

DECEMBER 2014

The Extraordinary Meeting of Shareholders of the Provincial Council of Girona's Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board met on 20 November. In accordance with the provisions of Law 27/2013 of 27 December on the rationalisation and sustainability of local government, it amended the composition of its Board of Directors, reducing the number of members from 50 to 15. The Board of Directors is the Tourist Board's principal governing body and now has eight members drawn from the public sector and seven private sector members who have full powers to manage the entity and enter into contracts on its behalf. In order to ensure that the interests of the majority of businesses in the tourism sector in Girona province are represented, the Board of Directors approved the creation of a General Advisory Council with 73 members drawn from around the province. These changes to the Statutes of the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board are intended to bring its governing bodies up to date so that they can carry out their day to day duties more effectively and efficiently.
