Costa Brava chefs in support of the Centenary

Seventy chefs take part in a photo shoot on Cap Roig beach as a tribute to the Centenary of the Costa Brava

MARCH 2014

On Tuesday 21st July seventy well-known chefs, including Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca), Marc Gascons (Els Tinars), Paco Pérez (Miramar), Lluís Feliu (L’Aliança) and Pere Arpa (Ca l’Arpa), amongst others, took part in a photo shoot aimed at showcasing the gastronomic excellence of the Costa Brava, one of the priority actions of the Centenary of the Costa Brava.

The Patronat de Turisme organised the event in the emblematic setting of Cap Roig in the town of Calonge to promote the Centenary Menu and to highlight two of the most deep-rooted values of this area: gastronomy and landscape.

With 14 Michelin stars and some of the best restaurants in the world, the Costa Brava has become world famous for its gastronomy. Gastronomy plays a prominent role in the Centenary of the Costa Brava with the creation of the Costa Brava Menu and the Centenary Menu. The chefs who met up for the photo shoot are taking part with their restaurants in this initiative aimed at positioning and raising the profile of Girona’s cuisine.

During the photo shoot, San Miguel, the Centenary sponsor, produced a short film to be distributed on the Internet as a contribution to the celebration of the Centenary of the Costa Brava and of the excellence of Girona's cuisine.
