Blogtrip #InPyrenees

Eight top international bloggers take part in the second Pirineu de Girona international blogtrip

From 24th September to 1st October the second #InPyrenees blogtrip took place, organised by the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona with the support of tourism organisations and companies from the three inland counties of the province of Girona and following straight on from the TBEX promotional and communication event.

A group made up of eight bloggers (including @TheplanetD, with more than 36,470 Twitter followers; @earthxplorer, with 107,798 followers and one of the most important influencers; Mat Long from the USA, a blogger on; and Marta Carnero of @GuiaRepsol) took part for the first time in this event devised to showcase and publicise the comprehensive tourism offer of the Pirineu de Girona.

For six days, the influencers discovered and experienced the nature, culture and gastronomy of the Pirineu de Girona thanks to an intensive activity programme that included a donkey ride through the Natural Park of the Volcanic Area of La Garrotxa, a hot air balloon flight in La Cerdanya and walks in La Fageda d’en Jordà and the Vall de Núria, among other activities. In addition to the trips, the travellers also had the chance to try out several activities, such as craftwork at the Museum of the Saints in Olot, wild mushroom hunting with chef Francesc Rovira of the Michelin-starred Cal Xesc restaurant in Gombrèn, canyoning along the River Freser and Segway riding in La Molina. The group also tasted various local delicacies such as cold meats, Catalan flatbreads and traditional dishes prepared by restaurants belonging to the area’s gastronimic associations, Cuina Volcànica and Cuina Pirinenca de la Cerdanya.

During the trip, the participants had the chance to discover aspects of Catalan tradition and culture, participating in sardana dancing and dancing with capgrossos (figures wearing giant papier mâché heads), along with other activities.

The bloggers are already publishing or will be publishing articles, comments, photos and videos through their respective Internet channels.
