Award

Costa Brava establishment named Europe’s best sustainable campsite.

JANUARY 2022

La Ballena Alegre campsite in Sant Pere Pescador, on the Costa Brava, has won an award for being the best sustainable and environmentally-friendly campsite in Europe from ADAC, the German largest motoring association in Europe.

An international committee of experts in this sector chose the winners of the ADAC Camping Awards, considered the ‘campsite Oscars’, in four categories: Sustainability and Environmental Awareness, Innovation and Development, Demographic Change and Accessibility and ADAC Camping Booking.

La Ballena Alegre received the award for Sustainability and Environmental Awareness in recognition of its commitment to reducing its ecological footprint. The establishment has become Europe’s most sustainable campsite ahead of other nominees, such as Denmark’s Blokhus Natur Camping and the Netherlands’ Ons Buiten.

The committee of experts felt that this campsite stood out for its “holistic approach” which combines luxury and modernity with “sustainable environmental protection”. This five-star campsite on the Costa Brava offers numerous services and solar-powered bungalows while also striving to reduce its ecological footprint.

La Ballena Alegre is one of the Costa Brava’s leading campsites, adding to the destination’s wide range of camping accommodation. https://campingsingirona.com
