Actions for opinion leaders
Forty travel agents, opinion leaders and travel and tourism journalists visit the region.

During March, the destination received visits from representatives from the cruise travel agency BC Tours, who were interested in seeing some of the region’s new tourist products and services. It also hosted a prospection trip made by ten Mexican agents specialising in event planning and luxury travel, who toured several towns on the Costa Brava, and a visit from members of Predif who toured the counties of Garrotxa, Ripollès and Cerdanya. In addition, a delegation of international agents visited the destination to explore Girona’s wine-tourism options, after taking part in the FINE fair in Valladolid. At the same time, the destination welcomed representatives from the Irish agency One Foot Abroad, who enjoyed active tourism and nature activities and visited wineries in the DO Empordà region, as well as the French agency specialising in cycling Vélo Expérience. Finally, agents from the Dutch tour operator Traniningskampen and Your Golf Travel, one of the most important British tour operators organising golf trips and minibreaks, made visits focused on discovering the destination’s sports tourism and golf services and facilities, respectively.
Regarding press trips, the destination received a visit from five journalists from the national media —La Vanguardia, El Periódico, 20 minutos, VIA Empresa and Hoy Tendencias— focused on cultural, gastronomic and wine-tourism activities, among others, in order to create content with ideas for Easter breaks. At the same time, two teams from the programme Échapées belles, broadcast on the channel France 5, visited various destinations on Girona’s coast and in Garrotxa. In addition, a journalist and a photographer from the Dutch magazine KBO-PCOB, aimed at seniors, visited the region to gather material for an article on its gastronomic and luxury tourist options.
The Tourist Board also collaborated with the digital content creator specialising in family tourism, Viajando con Mami, during their professional visit to the counties of Ripollès and Baix Empordà, and with photographer and communication specialist Irinalimone, who toured different towns in Girona to try out some wellness and luxury experiences on the Costa Brava, among others.
