The destination continues to host visits to the region by influencers and journalists.
During October, the Tourist Board organised and coordinated three press trips for five participants and two blog trips for seven participants, aimed at boosting interest in the region’s diverse range of tourist attractions so as to capture proximity tourism markets.
The Repsol Guide carried out a double publishing project in the destination. First it hosted a press trip focussed on the Costa Brava’s food and wine tourism options, which also included cultural content and led to the publication of four articles in online media. Then a second team of Repsol Guide writers made another trip to the destination with the aim of showcasing the array of outdoor activities available in four of the province’s natural parks.
In addition, a journalist from the French travel publication Routard.com visited the city of Girona within the framework of a project that aims to showcase the cities which have highspeed railway connections with France.
Regarding blog trips, the Tourist Board provided support for the visit made by the group of bloggers from the “Catalonia for foodies” project, launched by the Catalan Tourist Board, which focussed on food and wine tourism and cultural activities in the city of Girona and in the Garrotxa and Ripollès regions.
Lastly, the content creators of Viajando por un sueño visited the main attractions in the Costa Brava & Girona Pyrenees so as to generate publications in social media and their blog to show their followers the variety of outdoor, cultural and gourmet activities that can be done in the destination.
