2012-2013 Campaign in the Pirineu

The tourism offer of the Pirineu de Girona is publicised through a promotional video and a radio, television, digital media and press advertising campaign

MARCH 2014

For the 2012-2013 season, the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona is allocating resources in order to boost the local economy and is firmly committed to the tourism activity of the area. The Pirineu de Girona offers top conditions for skiers from the local area and the country as a whole, as well as for visitors and tourists who are looking for much more than snow. In other words, this is an area rich in culture with a long-standing tourism tradition.

The Patronat de Turisme kicked off the current Pirineu de Girona campaign with the following initiatives: the production of a promotional video shot from the air that showcases the natural, cultural, heritage and tourism attractions of the area; attendance at specialised fairs for professionals and end users in the Catalan and Spanish markets; the republishing of the "Mediterranean Snow" booklet; participation in and co-organisation of the Pirineus de Catalunya workshop held in Berga in October, in its capacity as partner of the Pirineus de Catalunya brand; and, last of all, the organisation of a specific Pirineu de Girona promotional event attended by 57 travel agents and 16 journalists based in the Balearic Islands. This wide-ranging programme of initiatives is designed to achieve a specific goal: to ensure that the 2012-2013 campaign is one of the best.

For the third year in a row, the Patronat de Turisme and the five ski resorts in the Girona area have launched a radio, television, digital media and press advertising campaign to boost the number of visitors to the inland counties during the period from January to March.

The effort being made by the managers of the Girona ski resorts and those of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government Railways) to address the current situation is praiseworthy. This year, the investment made by resorts has been aimed at improving facilities, adding value in terms of customer service and adapting services to the demands of a highly specific customer sector. Another clear sign of the good work being done by the managers of these resorts and of the quality of the facilities is the scheduling of more than 25 national and international snow-related sports events and races in the Pirineu de Girona.

In addition to skiing, the Pirineu de Girona offers an extensive and attractive tourism offer based on three pillars: culture, gastronomy and nature activities. On top of this, added value can be found in the friendly and personalised service offered in most tourism establishments.

The Patronat de Turisme is allocating an increasing number of resources and means for the promotion and publicising of the Pirineu de Girona and the inland counties of Girona with goal of raising their profile among visitors and positioning the Pirineu de Girona brand.
