1st Montseny-Guilleries Nature Day

The tourist destinations of the Girona area are meeting the challenges of the 21st century and are striving to create management strategies and business opportunities for companies.

MARCH 2014

The Montseny-Guilleries Tourism Business Federation is holding the 1st Montseny-Guilleries Nature Day on 17th November, focusing on “management strategies and opportunities for companies”.

Several objectives have been set for the day. The first of these is to study the proposals presented in the document entitled Development strategy for nature tourism in the Montseny-Guilleries area, aimed at harnessing its potential. Secondly, an analysis will be made of the potential opportunities for the area represented by ecotourism and nature tourism, along with the importance of hiking and other activities in areas of great scenic interest. Lastly, we will look at some experiences in the management, promotion and marketing of innovative products.

The day will enable local businesspeople and institutions to strengthen the activities already being carried out in terms of coordination and joint initiatives, as well as to create new products related to nature tourism and the discovery of the area’s values.

Another important task is to train and raise the awareness of all the agents involved in showcasing the tourism value of the Montseny-Guilleries area on the basis of expert advice on the planning and marketing of these products. A further aim is to strengthen the role of the Montseny-Guilleries Tourism Business Federation as the key institution in the new tourism development of the area, which is only possible with the clear will of the public and private sectors involved.

This is a technical and professional event aimed at members of the Federation (hotels, guesthouses, campsites, rural tourism, restaurants, nature classrooms, activity companies), local businesses that are not members of any association, representatives of municipal tourism areas, technicians and representatives of the Montseny Natural Park, entities, associations, tourism operators and media outlets.
