The nomination as “Best Golf Region 2016” by the prestigious British magazine Square Mile, together with the region’s 18 Michelin stars awarded by the Michelin Guide Spain & Portugal 2017, is the culmination of the commemoration of the Year of Golf and Food and Wine in the province of Girona. The double recognition reinforces the Costa Brava’s worldwide reputation as a leading golf destination which has grown its golf sector 70% since 2003 and consistently added more Michelin stars as the region grows its status as a first-class culinary destination. 2016 has been a year in which the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees has confirmed its position as a unique destination that provides the perfect mix of golf and wine and food for visitors.
