Verdict on the Taste of Spain workshop

The British market takes an interest in the tourism offer of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona.

MARCH 2014

Within the framework of the A Taste of Spain event held in London on 2nd and 3rd June by Turespaña, the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona addressed the British market by participating in two different promotional actions: A Taste of Spain – Travel, aimed at professionals from the British tourism sector, and A Taste of Spain – Borough Market, aimed at the general public.

A Taste of Spain – Travel consisted of a novel workshop for professionals held over a few days on the Vinopolis site, bringing the Spanish and Catalan tourism offer together with British demand. The idea for this event came about thanks to the high level of interest shown by British tourism professionals in seeing the Spanish tourism offer at close hand in order to discover new products and build upon existing relations. It was decided to hold this event instead of participating in the Steps tourism fair.

Meanwhile, the event organised for the general public, A Taste of Spain – Borough Market, which took place on the same dates as its sister event, consisted of displaying a range of typical products from several Spanish autonomous communities (including Catalonia and the Girona area) and inviting visitors to taste them.
