Trade fairs
Participation in two international cruise and sports sector events.
SEPTEMBER 2023
From 6 to 8 September the German city of Hamburg hosted the Mediterranean cruise sector trade fair Seatrade Cruise Europe, which was attended by more than 300 executives from cruise lines and 5000 professional visitors from 40 countries. Previously, on 4 and 5 September, the Board participated in the forum organised by CLIA for cruise company members of the association. The brand Costa Brava Ports took part in the event with a series of meetings with the cruise lines to present them with the services offered by the port facilities and with cruise companies, associations, tour operators and travel agents to show them the destination’s tourist attractions. This promotional action sought to capture new cruise companies and scheduled stops, strengthen maritime tourism and promote the region on the international stage.
Later, on 20 and 21 September Seville was the location of the World Football Summit, a specific event for the football sector in which the Sports Tourism Marketing Club took part to promote sports stays in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destination (Costa Brava Elite Training Camps) together with Girona FC, with three facilities in the province -Camiral, Royalverd Training Center and Torremirona Golf & Spa Resort- and the specialised incoming travel agency Iberia Sports and Evenia Travel.
