Tourism fairs

The Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona are promoted in six tourism fairs in Catalonia, Spain and abroad.


MARCH 2014

The Patronat de Turisme began the year by attending Madrid's Fitur fair in January, while in February it took part in six tourism fairs, mostly international, where it promoted the destination and products including gastronomy, golf, culture, active tourism and nature, targeting both professionals and end customers. 

5th and 6th February 2013 - International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), Tel Aviv (Israel)

The Patronat de Turisme participated for the second time in the IMTM, as part of the Catalan Pyrenees stand, promoting the tourism products and services of the Pirineu de Girona in particular, along with the tourism offering of the Costa Brava.

9th and 10th February 2013 - Fiets en Wandelbeurs fair, Amsterdam (Holland)

The Catalan Pyrenees brand, of which the Patronat de Turisme is a partner through the Pirineu de Girona destination, took part in the active tourism and hiking fair that is held in Amsterdam, Holland. 

From 14th to 17th February 2013 - Golden Dolphin Dive Show, Moscow (Russia)

The Patronat de Turisme took part for this first time in this event in Moscow, where it presented and promoted the Costa Brava's nautical tourism offering, in particular diving products and services, to professionals and end customers. 

From 21st to 24th February 2013 - International Fair Tourism (IFT), Belgrade (Serbia)

The Patronat de Turisme participated for the second time in this Belgrade fair as part of the Turespaña stand. The IFT is a tourism fair for professionals and end customers at which the Patronat presented the general tourism offering of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona. 

From 22nd to 24th February - Navartur 2013, Pamplona (Spain)

The Patronat de Turisme and seven tourism towns and companies from the area (Castell-Platja d’Aro, l’Escala- Empúries, Roses, la Vall d’en Bas, the county councils of El Baix Empordà and l’Alt Empordà, the Tourist Apartment Association) attended Navartur with a dedicated stand to showcase the tourism offering of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona and to deal with enquiries from tourism professionals and end customers. 

From 23rd to 26th February - Gastronomic Forum Girona (Spain)

The Patronat de Turisme shared an information point with Girona City Council at the forum where it distributed tourist information on the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destinations and the new DO Empordà Wine Route leaflet, along with other material. At the forum, on 24th February, a cooking workshop was held by the La Cuina del Vent (Cuisine of the Wind) association, promoted by the DO Empordà Wine Route marketing club, entitled “Food matching on the DO Empordà Wine Route”.
