Sports tourism promotion
International triathlete teams return to the Costa Brava-Girona’s sports facilities and centres.

A dozen professional triathletes and members of the Belgian team PTC, managed by former professional cyclist Glenn Poleunis, and a group of German triathletes, linked to the triple world champion and Olympic gold medallist Jan Frodeno, have chosen the Costa Brava-Girona destination to launch the training season in various disciplines, such as swimming, road cycling and running, while applying strict COVID-19 prevention measures and protocols.
With the gradual resumption of tourist activity in the sports area and the return of professional athletes and teams (of brands and federations) to the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees, local councils, entities, businesses in the sector and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board are working together to progressively reactivate training group activity and international competitions in the province of Girona’s sports facilities and destinations.
