Social networks: YouTube and Flickr

The Patronat de Turisme uses the YouTube and Flickr social channels to interact with community users and share content with them.

At present, the Costa Brava Pirineu YouTube channel contains 60 videos related to the destination, which have accumulated a total of 36,794 plays. They include the new videos on the training day “Innovation in tourism companies”, split into 6 different capsules. One of the most popular videos on the channel is The essence of the Mediterranean: the Costa Brava from the air, which has accumulated more than 11,000 views in just 6 months. This promotional tourism video, which lasts 3 minutes and 48 seconds, highlights the natural, cultural, heritage and tourism attractions of the Costa Brava destination and has been one of the most frequently shared videos on the Internet.

As for the channel created on the Flickr image-sharing site, in the period stretching from when it began operating up to December, more than 4,700 images of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona have been shared. Users of the channel have provided positive feedback on this community in which they show and share photographs of the area's tourism attractions.

The Patronat de Turisme is using these channels to link and boost the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona profiles through Facebook and Twitter social networks, thus facilitating traffic between the different communities, in order to increase the number of visits, contacts and new posts.
