SITC 2013

The DO Empordà Wine Route and the Nature and Active Tourism brochures are presented at SITC 2013

MARCH 2014

From 19th to 21st April, at SITC (International Tourism Fair of Catalonia), as part of the Catalonia stand, the Girona tourism sector promoted and disseminated the tourism offering of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destinations among the end customers and tourism professionals who attended the fair.

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board had a promotional space for the Costa Brava brand at the Catalonia stand and another space for the Pirineu de Girona brand at the Catalan Pyrenees stand, where it informed and advised tourism professionals and end customers on the new features of the destination's tourism offering. Two new publications were available at the fair that have been recently published by the Tourist Board: the DO Empordà Wine Route brochure and the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees Nature and Active Tourism brochure.

A new and very popular feature at this year's fair, situated in front of the Catalonia stand, was the gastronomic zone "Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees: a taste for the senses", in which visitors were able to sample and buy food products. 15 entities were represented in the zone, including tourism destinations, restaurant businesses, producers, gastronomic associations from the Girona area and the DO Empordà Wine Route, specifically: Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with restaurant businesses; Palamós, with the Palamós Gastronòmic association; Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà, with products from Empordà; Garrotxa, with the Cuina Volcànica association; L’Escala, with anchovies from L'Escala; Cadaqués, with taps de Cadaqués (stopper-shaped sponge cakes); Girona, with the Girona Bons Fogons association; Sils, with the La Cuina a Sils association; Salt, with the Les Cuineres de Salt association; Tossa de Mar, with the Tossa Dolça association; and the DO Empordà Wine Route, with the tasting and sale of wines produced by cellars that form part of the route, among others.
