Promotional event in Amsterdam

The Costa Brava brand is promoted in conjunction with FC Barcelona

On the occasion of the UEFA Champions League match between AFC Ajax of Amsterdam and FC Barcelona on 26th November in the Dutch capital, the University of Amsterdam hosted the talk "Barça and Catalan culture", in which the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board also participated in order to promote the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees tourist destinations among students, media outlets and several Dutch tour operators.

The talk at the university ended with the presentation and showing of the promotional video of the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees, followed by a special meal featuring gastronomic products from the Girona area. The promotional event at the University of Amsterdam stemmed from the agreement signed in September 2012 between Barcelona Football Club and the Ramon Llull Institute for the promotion of Catalan culture around the world.

As regards the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brand, being associated with FC Barcelona is beneficial in terms of its brand image and profile, and also has a positive impact on European outbound tourism markets for the Girona destination.

Back in May, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, the Catalan Tourism Agency and the FC Barcelona director Dídac Lee (acting as ambassador of the Costa Brava in China), carried out a promotional event in Shanghai aimed at tour operators and media outlets.
