Promotional actions

The Patronat is organising five press trips to promote the Costa Brava’s “health and beauty” and “culture” products in the Spanish and Benelux markets.

MARCH 2014

As part of its 2009 Action Plan, the Patronat de Turisme has organised five press trips for the second half of August and the first fortnight of September aimed at the Spanish and Benelux markets for the specific promotion of health and beauty and culture products. Furthermore, these promotional actions serve to introduce other tourist products on offer in the destination, thus adding value to these trips organised for media professionals.

The Health and Beauty Club of the Patronat de Turisme, with the active involvement of 22 establishments, has scheduled four press trips through which it aims to showcase the variety, diversity and quality of the offer in spas, health centres, hotels with spas and other facilities in the Girona area. The media outlets taking part in these actions aimed at familiarising visitors with the destination include the magazines Woman, Vanidad, Edimoda, Mía, Top Madrid and the newspaper El Mundo.

Furthermore, the Patronat de Turisme and Turisme de Catalunya are collaborating in the organisation of a press trip with a cultural theme, scheduled to take place from 3rd to 6th September, coinciding with the Indiano Fair in Begur. The trip schedule, organised for a group of six Dutch and Belgian journalists, includes visits to several coastal towns included in the network of Indiano towns. Indianos were returning Spanish emigrants who had made their fortune in the Spanish colonies of America. The schedule also includes visits to areas of great scenic and natural interest, gastronomic tasting sessions and the Centenary Menu, amongst other activities, showcasing the natural, heritage and tourist attractions of the Costa Brava while promoting the Centenary. Journalists from the publications Kampeertourist, Travel 2, Beauty Expressions and Car & Bus Magazine are taking part in the press trip.

Following their press trip the journalists will publish a series of articles and reports aimed at capturing readers' interest and drawing visitors to the destination.
